The most common warning signs are those of curves and these are discussed below:
- Curve to the left or right: Indicates an bend in the road to the left or right.
- Combined curves: These are a series of bends that are consecutive or simply said, one bend feeds into another
- Hair pin curve: Like the name infers to a hair pin, These corners are usually very sharp and turn almost 180 degrees.
As a driver, ensure you do the following things when approaching curves to ensure your safety and the safety of other road users:
- Slow down as you approach corners to avoid losing control when cornering
- Always stay on your side of the road. In Uganda it is the left side but for neighboring countries like Rwanda it is to the right.
- Do not overtake in corners. Since there is low visibility of what is ahead, overtaking in corners is strictly prohibited.
